On Saturday, he claimed victory in the 100-meter freestyle at the San Antonio locale of the US Open. Krueger led a 1-2-3 finish of either current or former Longhorns, winning the event in 50.17.<\/p>\n<p>As long as the pandemic doesn\u2019t cancel the 2021 NCAA Championships, as was the case last spring, Krueger is expected to lead Texas in pursuit of another team title. He was followed in San Antonio by Texas product <strong>Jeff Newkirk<\/strong> (50.40) and current teammate <strong>Drew<\/strong> <strong>Kibler<\/strong> (50.54). The Longhorns are currently in heavy training under coach <strong>Eddie Reese<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2020-toyota-us-open-day-3-combined-day-3\/usa-senior-national\/2020\/November\/14?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Day 3 results<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Texas freshman <strong>Carson Foster<\/strong> picked up his third victory of the weekend when he stopped the clock in 1:59.26 in the 200 butterfly. That win backed up earlier first-place finishes in the 200 individual medley and 400 individual medley. Other victories from Texas guys came from <strong>Caspar Corbeau<\/strong> (2:14.37) in the 200 breaststroke, <strong>Ethan Harder<\/strong> (2:03.91) in the 200 backstroke and <strong>Jack Collins<\/strong> (15:22.05) in the 1500 freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, <strong>Madisyn Cox<\/strong> continued her strong weekend by claiming a victory in the 200 breaststroke (2:27.55). That win complemented Cox\u2019s earlier wins in the 200 individual medley and 200 freestyle.<\/p>\n<h3>In Irvine \u2026<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/u-s-open-15-year-old-arabella-sims-wins-800-free-in-irvine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Arabella Sims<\/strong><\/a> and<strong> Erica Sullivan<\/strong> went short and long to highlight the last women\u2019s session of the weekend. Sims was the winner in the 100 freestyle, behind a 55.99 performance, while Sullivan prevailed in the 1500 free in 16:04.37. <strong>Isabelle Odgers<\/strong> logged a strong 200 breaststroke, as she touched the wall in 2:28.69, and <strong>Katie Crom<\/strong> won the 200 butterfly in 2:12.94.<\/p>\n<p>Among the men, <strong>Grant House<\/strong> was swiftest in the 100 freestyle behind a time of 49.47, with <strong>Jorge Iga<\/strong> also breaking the 50-second barrier in 49.86. <strong>Zheng Wen Quah<\/strong> was the winner of the 200 butterfly in 1:59.16 while <strong>Brandon Fischer<\/strong> bested the competition in the 200 breaststroke in 2:13.60.
