The previous mark was <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> at 51.30. On Friday, he broke the 100 fly mark at 54.45, also besting Andrew. He also turned in a second-fastest 13-14 mark in the 50 free this week at 23.36.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a look at the top men\u2019s early performances on the East Coast:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2020-toyota-us-open\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Complete meet coverage<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2020-toyota-us-open-day-3-combined-day-3\/usa-senior-national\/2020\/November\/14?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Day 3 combined results<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Men\u2019s 1500 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Florida\u2019s <strong>Bobby Finke<\/strong> won the 1500 free in Sarasota&#8217;s US Open stop, touching the wall in 15:09.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liam Custer<\/strong> was second in 15:35.69.<\/p>\n<p>In Richmond, <strong>Connor Hunt<\/strong> was first in 15:32.66.<\/p>\n<p>In Indy, <strong>James Brinegar<\/strong> took the top spot in 15:34.62, nearly 20 seconds ahead of the field.<\/p>\n<p>In Greensboro, <strong>Dylan Porges<\/strong> touched the wall first in 15:49.24 ahead of <strong>Christian Bayo<\/strong> (15:52.94).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men\u2019s 200 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Greensboro, <strong>William Grant<\/strong> was the lone swimmer to break 2 minutes, finishing the 200 backstroke in 1:59.52.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Braeden Haughey<\/strong> was second (2:00.38), followed by Brandon Miller (2:00.80).<\/p>\n<p>Florida\u2019s <strong>Clark Beach<\/strong> was the first to touch the wall in the 200 backstroke in Sarasota, finishing in 2:00.21. <strong>Yeziel Morales<\/strong> was second at 2:01.68. <strong>Ryan Lochte<\/strong> finished fifth in 2:03.83.<\/p>\n<p>In Indy,<strong> Wyatt Davis<\/strong> touched first in 2:00.30, ahead of <strong>Cade Oliver<\/strong> (2:00.81), <strong>Cameron Tysoe<\/strong> (2:01.43) and <strong>Kyle<\/strong> <strong>Maas<\/strong> (2:01.92).<\/p>\n<p>In Richmond, <strong>James Ewing<\/strong> was first in 2:03.17.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men\u2019s 100 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Indy stop, Cardinals&#8217; <strong>Andrej Barna<\/strong> took the top spot in 48.75, ahead of Kentucky&#8217;s <strong>Michael Eastman<\/strong> (50.14).<\/p>\n<p>In Greensboro&#8217;s US Open stop, NCAC\u2019s <strong>Samuel Hoover<\/strong> dropped a second from his best time to touch the wall in 49.71.<\/p>\n<p>Hoover held off <strong>Dean Farris<\/strong> (50.31) and <strong>Yusuke Legard<\/strong> (50.37).<\/p>\n<p>Florida\u2019s <strong>Jan Friese<\/strong> touched first in Sarasota, clocking a 49.91, just ahead of teammate <strong>Kieran Smith<\/strong> (49.93).<\/p>\n<p>In Richmond, <strong>Alberto Mestre<\/strong> was first in 50.08 ahead of A<strong>ustin Surhoff<\/strong> (50.19) and Virginia&#8217;s <strong>Matthew Brownstead<\/strong> (50.21).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Thomas Heilman<\/strong> broke the 13-14 NAG with a 51.20, which was ninth in Richmond.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_454008\" style=\"width: 452px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-454008\" data-attachment-id=\"454008\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2020-us-open-men-andrew-wilson-bobby-finke-put-together-strong-wins\/cody-miller-32\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/cody-miller-2020-usopen-indy-2547.jpg\" data-orig-size=\"1500,1125\" data-comments-opened=\"1\" data-image-meta=\"{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;2.8&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;Peter H. Club Wolverine&#8217;s <strong>Miles Smachlo<\/strong> was second (1:58.51), ahead of Louisville&#8217;s <strong>Nicholas Albiero<\/strong> (2:00.98).<\/p>\n<p>In Richmond, <strong>Matthew Fenlon<\/strong> swam a 1:58.41.<\/p>\n<p>In the Greensboro stop of the US Open, Virginia Tech\u2019s <strong>Antani Ivanov<\/strong> took the top spot in the 200 butterfly with a swim of 1:58.81, just three tenths ahead of NC State\u2019s <strong>Zach Brown<\/strong> (1:58.81). Dynamo\u2019s <strong>Jay Litherland<\/strong> was third at 2:00.37.<\/p>\n<p>Florida\u2019s <strong>Miguel Cancel<\/strong> was first to touch in the 200 butterfly at the Sarasota stop of the US Open.
