A shaved and tapered Adam Peaty<\/strong> notched a British record<\/a> in the 50 breaststroke with the London Roar in ISL Semifinal 1 Saturday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Peaty won the event in 25.50 seconds, .05 ahead of Energy Standard\u2019s Ilya Shymanovich.<\/strong> He downs the record he set in Copenhagen in 2017 at 25.70. It\u2019s also the second-fastest time in the league this season, behind only Emre Sakci<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Peaty was also 2:03.06 to take fourth place in the 200 breast. He also split 54.84 on the medley relay, the fastest split in history. (His flat-start British record is 55.92.)<\/p>\n

Peaty\u2019s swim was one of three British records to fall on the first day of ISL Semifinal 1.<\/p>\n

Duncan Scott<\/strong> continues to round into form, winning the 200 individual medley in 1:51.66. That lowers the British record he set at least year\u2019s ISL finals in Las Vegas at 1:51.85. Scott also threw down a 45.96 anchor leg on the Roar\u2019s medley relay to hold off Florent Manaudou<\/strong> and get the win for the Roar by .05.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve just been trying to be as competitive as I can be throughout the meets,\u201d Scott said on the broadcast. \u201cYou have some people in completely different preparations at some meets rather than others, so it\u2019s all about focusing on your individual performances. Luke Greenbank<\/strong> lowered his British record in the 200 backstroke for the second straight swim. Greenbank had set the mark last December in Glasgow at 1:50.09, then went 1:49.97 last week.
