NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Notre Dame has received another early verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from Junior National qualifier Marcus Reyes-Gentry<\/strong>\u00a0of Central Point, Ore.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Michael Flynn<\/strong><\/a>, Dillon Edge<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Jack Anderson<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Tate Bacon<\/b><\/a>\u00a0as a member of the Fighting Irish\u2019s Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I am extremely proud and ecstatic to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame. Their program surpasses all I’ve dreamt of in college swimming. I’d like to thank my mom and family for all the sacrifices they\u2019ve made to bring my dreams to fruition. To Coach Siouxha, thank you for the many years of loyalty and awareness of knowing exactly what I need to become a better person and swimmer. Go Irish! ?”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented backstroker, Reyes-Gentry trains year-round with Superior Stingrays Swimming and finished 14th in the 200 back at Juniors West last December. He collected six gold medals at th.\u00a0 e Oregon 11-14 Championships in February 2019 and most recently earned three best times at the Region XII Senior Championships in March.<\/p>\n
