Iron&#8217;s sprinters put them thoroughly in second place after advancing one swimmer to the final in both events with\u00a0<strong>Emre Sakci\u00a0<\/strong>winning the 50 breast and\u00a0<strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo\u00a0<\/strong>finishing second in the 50 free.<\/p>\n<p>Energy Standard welcomed back\u00a0<strong>Sarah Sjostrom\u00a0<\/strong>with open arms as she won the 50 free Skins and also took the win in the 100 free while\u00a0<strong>Chad Le Clos<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Danas Rapsys\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Siobhan Haughey\u00a0<\/strong>continued their winning ways in their best events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kliment Kolesnikov\u00a0<\/strong>also got back on track with a solid win in the 100 backstroke. Kolesnikov previously stood 11th in the league this season but improved down to where many believed he would be as the Russian now leads the league rankings as he set the league record yesterday in the medley relay. Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo\u00a0<\/strong>placed third as Sjostrom took points from sixth, seventh and eighth place. Sjostrom <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sarah-sjostrom-to-miss-isl-match-six-sunday-with-back-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">had some notable health problems<\/a> as she sat out the last match with minor back issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 100 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zach Apple\u00a0<\/strong>continued his strong showing this season for the Trident with a 46.50 to win another 100 freestyle this season ahead of training partner\u00a0<strong>Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>(46.64) of the Titans and\u00a0<strong>Evgeny Rylov\u00a0<\/strong>(46.76) of Energy Standard. Apple did not reach the jackpot standard as all eight swimmers kept their points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>scored a convincing win in the 200 butterfly to gain some confidence back with a 2:05.45 to now sit third in the ISL rankings this season. Hosszu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/isl-match-seven-notes-struggles-of-katinka-hosszu-a-surprise-emre-sakci-scares-world-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">had some notable struggles this season<\/a> but was able to turn the tides to grab the 200 fly win ahead of Toronto&#8217;s <strong>Tess Cieplucha\u00a0<\/strong>(2:07.38) and Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos\u00a0<\/strong>(2:07.54).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chad Le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>flew to a convincing win in the 200 fly with a 1:50.28 to tie\u00a0<strong>Tom Shields\u00a0<\/strong>atop the leaderboard this season as Le Clos led throughout and was hardly challenged, with DC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zach Harting\u00a0<\/strong>finishing second at 1:53.38 and Toronto&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jay Lelliott\u00a0<\/strong>in third at 1:54.04. Le Clos was able to hit jackpot points and steal points from half the field.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 100 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kylie Masse\u00a0<\/strong>of the Toronto Titans scored a season best time of 56.06 to take the 100 back over rival\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>of Energy Standard (56.40). Masse achieved three extra points from seventh and eighth with the jackpot as\u00a0<strong>Amy Bilquist\u00a0<\/strong>of DC placed third at 57.08.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 100 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kliment Kolesnikov\u00a0<\/strong>achieved his first ISL win with a 49.42 in the 100 back after his season got off to a bit of a rocky start, similar to Hosszu&#8217;s. Kolesnikov won ahead of Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Robert Glinta\u00a0<\/strong>(49.87) and\u00a0<strong>Guilherme Basseto\u00a0<\/strong>(50.30) as all eight swimmers kept their points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 100 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anastasiya Shkurdai\u00a0<\/strong>held off Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jenna Laukkanen\u00a0<\/strong>in the 100 IM with a 58.39 to Laukkanen&#8217;s 58.42 as the Fin just a strong breaststroke leg to close the gap on the Belorussian teenager. Shkurdai held on for the win and picked up an extra point with the jackpot rule as\u00a0<strong>Louise Hansson\u00a0<\/strong>of Toronto was third at 59.09.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 100 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marco Orsi\u00a0<\/strong>took care of business in the 100 IM with a 52.02 as he won in a tight battle with Toronto&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sergey Fesikov\u00a0<\/strong>(52.17) and Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Florent Manaudou\u00a0<\/strong>(52.41). Orsi picked up an additional point by his margin of victory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Siobhan Haughey\u00a0<\/strong>remained untouched in the 200 freestyle this season with a 1:51.88 to win convincingly ahead of teammate\u00a0<strong>Femke Heemskerk\u00a0<\/strong>(1:53.12). Haughey is the ISL record holder in this event as she picked up an extra six points with her win, with Toronto&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rebecca Smith\u00a0<\/strong>in third (1:53.22).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Danas Rapsys\u00a0<\/strong>won his second event of the weekend with a 1:42.42, a second over his ISL record as he used a strong last 50 of 25.40 to run down the field. Toronto&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>closed for second at 1:43.46 with DC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zach Apple\u00a0<\/strong>in third at 1:43.47. Rapsys picked up three extra points with his swim.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 50 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo\u00a0<\/strong>broke her own ISL record in the 50 fly with a 24.59, lowering the 24.74 she had this season as she picked up ten extra points, stealing points from the bottom half of the field. She led a 1-2 charge with\u00a0<strong>Melanie Henique\u00a0<\/strong>(24.71), who was under the old record as well, while Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Banic\u00a0<\/strong>placed third at 25.00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 50 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicholas Santos\u00a0<\/strong>continued to defy time as he won the 50 fly with a 22.04, a huge jackpot margin, scoring 15 additional points as Iron are now only six points behind the Titans for second place. Santos won ahead of Energy&#8217;s <strong>Chad Le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>(22.58) and Toronto&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andriy Govorov\u00a0<\/strong>(22.65) as the rest of the field had their points stolen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Team Iron won its third straight event with\u00a0<strong>Ida Hulkko\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jenna Laukkanen\u00a0<\/strong>scoring a 1-2 finish in the 100 breast with Hulkko coming out on top at 1:04.41. Laukkanen was second at 1:04.44 as both were under their season best times, with Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benedetta Pilato\u00a0<\/strong>in third at 1:04.61. All eight swimmers kept their points. Team Iron now leads the Titans by six points with six events remaining.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ilya Shymanovich\u00a0<\/strong>out-dueled Iron&#8217;s <strong>Emre Sakci\u00a0<\/strong>in the 100 breast with Shymanovich coming out on top at 55.85 with Sakci at 55.97. Shymanovich picked up six extra points as Energy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felipe Lima\u00a0<\/strong>was third at 57.31.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mixed 4&#215;100 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Energy Standard showcased their depth in mixed relay with a dominating win from\u00a0<strong>Evgeny Rylov\u00a0<\/strong>(46.65),\u00a0<strong>Kliment Kolesnikov\u00a0<\/strong>(45.53),\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Pernille Blume\u00a0<\/strong>(51.81) and\u00a0<strong>Siobhan Haughey\u00a0<\/strong>(51.92) in ISL record fashion at 3:15.91,\u00a0 breaking their own record of 3:15.99 from last year. Toronto was second at 3:19.34 with DC in third at 3:19.58.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Toronto got a much needed win from\u00a0<strong>Tess Cieplucha\u00a0<\/strong>in the 400 IM as the Titan won handily at 4:27.78 over DC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emma Barksdale\u00a0<\/strong>(4:30.12) and Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>(4:30.23), who led at the 200.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>David Verraszto\u00a0<\/strong>pulled the team ahead of Toronto by ten points headed into the Skins with a 4:04.70, picking up three extra points. Energy&#8217;s <strong>Max Stupin\u00a0<\/strong>finished in second at 4:05.20 while DC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abrahm DeVine\u00a0<\/strong>was third at 4:06.39. Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Leonardo Santos\u00a0<\/strong>came up big with a fourth place finish at 4:08.24.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s Skins Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Energy Standard&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah Sjostrom\u00a0<\/strong>showed she is still the Skins master with three wins across three rounds of the 50 free as Iron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo\u00a0<\/strong>raced alongside her in the final. Kromowidjojo and\u00a0<strong>Melanie Henique\u00a0<\/strong>were able to put Team Iron solidly in second place by advancing to round two.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Round
