Russian Championships in Kazan.\u00a0The 18-year-old had ensured the final session of the competition \u2013 which also serves as a qualifier for the Olympics in Tokyo next July \u2013 started with a performance that will reverberate across poolsides around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Not only was it Minakov who lit up the Aquatics Palace.\u00a0<strong>Evgenia Chikunova<\/strong> won the 200m breaststroke in 2:21.87 and Alexander Kudashev stopped the clock at 1:55.60 in the 200 fly, and\u00a0<strong>Ilya Borodin\u00a0<\/strong>broke the WJR in the 400 IM at 4:11.50.<\/p>\n<h3>#2: Swimming Australia CEO target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>By Dan D&#8217;Addona<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Swimming Australia today confirmed that CEO\u00a0<strong>Leigh Russell<\/strong>\u00a0has advised the board she will be stepping down as CEO at the end of November this year.<\/p>\n<p>Swimming Australia deputy board chairperson,\u00a0<strong>Tracy Stockwell<\/strong>, said that Leigh had been a strong leader for the organisation and for the sport over the past three years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Australia\u2019s number one Olympic sport, we are well placed going into a disrupted but highly anticipated Tokyo Olympics and the Paralympics in 2021 and then on to the 2024 Games.\u201cUnder Leigh\u2019s leadership, we have built a strong executive and a high-performance team.
