Big thank you to my coaches, family, &amp; friends for always holding me accountable and continuing to push me to reach my goals. WAHOOWA!!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Primarily a freestyler, Smith does her club swimming with <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">East Carolina Aquatics for coach <\/span><b>Casey Charles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. She most recently placed sixth in the 200 free and ninth in the 100 free at Cary Sectionals in March after racing three events at Juniors East in December. At the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Southeastern Classic last November, she swam away with five gold medals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Summer 2019, she recorded three best times at North Carolina LCM Seniors where she finished fifth in the 100m free, seventh in the 200m, free and tenth in the 100m back.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her best times include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">50 free \u2013 23.63<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100 free \u2013 50.15<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">200 free \u2013 1:49.10<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">50 back \u2013 27.47<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100 back \u2013 56.64<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">200 back \u2013 2:00.43<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">200 IM \u2013 2:07.35<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently a junior at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Junius H. Rose High School, Smith is already a four-time individual North Carolina 3A State Championship finalist. She won both the 100 free and 200 free as a sophomore while taking first and second, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She was also named the NCHSAA 3A State Swimmer of the Year in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Smith continues the ECA-to-UVA pipeline, becoming the fourth swimmer in 12 years from the club to suit up for the Cavaliers along with <\/span><b>Meredith Perdue, Lauren Perdue<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Matt Houser<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under head coach <\/span><b>Todd DeSorbo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Virginia dominated the ACC Championships last season.
