She scored a minor upset over London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marie Wattel\u00a0<\/strong>as LA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aly Tetzloff\u00a0<\/strong>came in third to start the day well for the Current.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 49.10, Caeleb Dressel, Cali Condors<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tom Shields\u00a0<\/strong>broke the ISL record in the 100 butterfly with a 48.94 to show to the rest of the league at the Current are on form early here in ISL Match five. Shields finished ahead of London&#8217;s <strong>Marius Kusch\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Vini Lanza\u00a0<\/strong>as Shields has been an integral part to the Current this season. He broke\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>ISL record from last season and jackpotted seventh and eighth place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 1:59.25, Minna Atherton, London Roar<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>DC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/amy-bilquist-looking-to-build-on-her-first-isl-victory-for-dc-trident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amy Bilquist<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>scored the third straight league best time this year with a 2:01.29 to slingshot by London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kira Toussaint\u00a0<\/strong>on the final 50 of the 200 back with Tokyo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rio Shirai\u00a0<\/strong>finishing in third. Bilquist was able to get jackpot points from seventh and eighth place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 Back<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 1:48.23, Radoslaw Kawecki, Cali Condors<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>LA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ryan Murphy\u00a0<\/strong>broke the second ISL record of the day with a 1:48.03 to lead the 200 back field. He had a tussle with\u00a0<strong>Ryosuke Irie\u00a0<\/strong>through 150 meters but pulled away at the end to win the Current&#8217;s third event of the session. DC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jacob Pebley\u00a0<\/strong>slipped into third place. Murphy and\u00a0<strong>Radoslaw Kawecki\u00a0<\/strong>have flipped back and forth with the league leading time this season as Murphy got the better of his Polish rival on ISL match five.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 2:16.04, Lilly King, Cali Condors<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Tokyo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sakiko Shimizu\u00a0<\/strong>got the Frog Kings&#8217; first win of the match with a 2:18.88 to hold off London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Annie Lazor\u00a0<\/strong>in the 200 breaststroke. DC&#8217;s <strong>Bethany Galat\u00a0<\/strong>slipped into third place as early leader\u00a0<strong>Reona Aoki\u00a0<\/strong>of Tokyo slipped to fifth behind London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sydney Pickrem<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 2:00.81, Marco Koch, New York Breakers<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Will Licon\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed the fourth win of ISL match five for the Current with a 2:03.92 in the 200 breaststroke as it was a tight race among the top six swimmers with Tokyo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yasuhiro Koseki\u00a0<\/strong>and London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kirill Prigoda\u00a0<\/strong>tying for second. Tokyo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Shoma Sato\u00a0<\/strong>placed fourth as the Frog Kings passed the Roar for second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 4&#215;100 Free Relay<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 3:26.48, Energy Standard<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The London Roar won a nail biter in the 4&#215;100 free relay with a 3:27.48. The Roar finished in seventh and eighth as the Current extended their lead early and Tokyo moved to second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 50 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 23.29, Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Team Iron<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Beryl Gastaldello\u00a0<\/strong>of the LA Current swam a season best of 23.76 in the 50 to win her second event of the day. London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Freya Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>had a great close to finish in second with LA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abbey Weitzeil\u00a0<\/strong>in third. Gastaldello jackpotted eighth place with her dominating swim.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 1:50.76, Daiya Seto, Energy Standard<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andreas Vazaios\u00a0<\/strong>scored a minor upset with a 1:52.65 to win the 200 IM ahead of\u00a0<strong>Kosuke Hagino<\/strong> as there was a lot of hype around the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/duncan-scott-relishing-medley-meeting-with-kosuke-hagino-as-london-get-ready-to-roar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hagino &#8211; <\/a><strong>D<\/strong><strong>uncan Scott\u00a0<\/strong>matchup. Scott finished in fourth as DC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abrahm DeVine\u00a0<\/strong>got third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 2:04.06, Melanie Margalis, Cali Condors<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Tokyo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yui Ohashi\u00a0<\/strong>snagged a much-needed win for the Frog Kings with a 2:05.26 in the 200 IM as she swam a controlled race to add only about a tenth to her season best time. London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sydney Pickrem\u00a0<\/strong>finished in second to allow the Roar to hold on to second place as LA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anastasia Gorbenko\u00a0<\/strong>finished in third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 50 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 25.50, Emre Sakci, Team Iron<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Adam Peaty\u00a0<\/strong>overcame a poor start to out-touch the field and grab an extra jackpot point to win the 50 breast at 26.10, ahead of LA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felipe Franca\u00a0<\/strong>and London&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kirill Prigoda<\/strong>. DC rookie <strong>Lindsey Kozelsky\u00a0<\/strong>placed second as Atkinson picked up an extra point with the jackpot rule. LA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ryan Murphy\u00a0<\/strong>was second and DC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mark Nikolaev\u00a0<\/strong>was third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 400 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 3:54.06, Katie Ledecky, DC Trident<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Leah Smith\u00a0<\/strong>led wire to wire in the 400 free to win with a 4:00.18 for a 1-2 finish with\u00a0<strong>Chihiro Igarashi<\/strong> of the Frog Kings, giving Tokyo some momentum moving forward. Tokyo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katsuhiro Matsumoto\u00a0<\/strong>finished in third to head into the all-important medley relays.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 4&#215;100 Medley Relay<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 3:46.82, Cali Condors<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The London Roar claimed their second relay win of the day with\u00a0<strong>Kira Toussaint<\/strong>, <strong>Alia Atkinson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Marie Wattel\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Freya Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>taking a dominant 3:47.85 to have control of the Skins event tomorrow. The Current finished in second but were disqualified, with the Frog Kings now in second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 4&#215;100 Medley Relay<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i>ISL record: 3:21.24, Energy Standard<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The LA Current broke the ISL record to close the day on ISL match five with a 3:20.95 with the team of\u00a0<strong>Ryan Murphy<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Felipe Franca<\/strong>, <strong>Tom Shields\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Maxime Rooney<\/strong> using a strong back half to beat the Roar and the Frog Kings.
