I want to thank my friends, family, and Coaches for supporting me throughout this process. I can\u2019t wait to be a part of such an exceptional team. Thank you Coach Thomas and Coach Stefl. Go Colonials!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hernandez trains year-round with Gulliver Swim Club and last competed at Plantation Sectionals where she finished 18th in the 50m free. She collected two gold medals at the TYR Last Chance\/Holiday Classic in November and finaled in four events at Southern Zone Sectionals in March 2019.<\/p>\n<p>In Summer 2019, she earned bronze in the 50m breast and took fourth in the 50m free at Florida Gold Coast Seniors before going on to compete at Greensboro Futures. She was the runner-up in the 50 free and placed ninth in the 100 free as a junior while taking first and third, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n<p>She was also named the Miami-Dade County Girls\u2019 Swimmer of the Year in 2019 and was a finalist for the Miami-Dade Class 4A-1A Female Athlete of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Hernandez will make an immediate impact both individually and on relays when she suits up for the Colonials at the start of the 2021-22 season.
