NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Sprinter\u00a0Ava Lachey\u00a0<\/strong>of New Albany, Ohio has announced her verbal commitment to UCLA and will arrive in Los Angeles at the start of the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Fay Lustria<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Courtney Seljeseth<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Bruins\u2019 Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at UCLA! I want to thank my family, coaches and teammates for their support throughout this process. I cannot wait to join this amazing team! GO BRUINS!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A Junior National qualifier, Lachey trains yer-round with Ohio State Swim Club and last competed at the MAKO Senior Circuit in February where she placed third in the 100 fly after racing four events at Juniors East in December.<\/p>\n

In summer 2019, she recorded a trio of top-8 finishes at Ohio LCM Seniors before going on to final in two events at Cleveland Sectionals. She also competed at Geneva Futures and Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n
