Five of them are Level I violations, the highest level, which include a lack of institutional control and the university\u2019s failure to monitor programs. Busch and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/college\/2020\/10\/25\/arizona-sean-miller-violations-ncca-notice-of-allegations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">men\u2019s basketball<\/a> coach <strong>Sean Miller<\/strong> were each accused of lack of control, <a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/2158740\/2020\/10\/25\/arizona-sean-miller-ncaa-investigaton-fbi-book-richardson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according to a report by <\/a><em>The Athletic.<\/em> Busch\u2019s involvement in the investigation was one of the new details unearthed by the report.<\/p>\n<p>Busch was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/augie-busch-named-head-coach-of-university-of-arizona-swim-team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">named the head coach<\/a> of the University of Arizona in July 2017. After eight seasons as a Wildcats assistant to his father and fellow Arizona alum, <strong>Frank Busch<\/strong>, Augie Busch branched out to serve as the women\u2019s head coach at Houston from 2011-13 and the head coach at Virginia from 2013-17.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona\u2019s outside counsel requested that the case by referred to the NCAA\u2019s Independent Accountability Resolution Process, created in 2018 but not yet utilized in any cases. The investigation into Miller dovetails with one being conducted on college basketball at large by the U.S. Attorney of the Southern District of New York. Arizona\u2019s basketball infractions stem from the actions of assistant coach <strong>Book Richardson,<\/strong> who in 2017 was arrested along with assistants at three others schools and charged with wire fraud. (Richardson plead guilty to bribery and <a href=\"https:\/\/tucson.com\/sports\/arizonawildcats\/basketball\/former-ua-assistant-coach-book-richardson-released-from-federal-prison\/article_e02a6ead-a737-5579-b9ef-a8b0044fbe8e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">served three months<\/a>.)
