NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Junior National qualifier\u00a0Ryan Zerpa\u00a0<\/strong>of Los Angeles, Calif. has announced his verbal commitment to Purdue University beginning in the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Luke Fortner<\/strong><\/a>, Idris Muhammad<\/b><\/a>,\u00a0Brady Samuels<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Lance Lesage<\/b><\/a>\u00a0as a member of the Boilermakers\u2019 class of 2025.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Purdue University. I would like to thank everyone who supported me on my journey including my outstanding family, friends, coaches, and teachers. It is a dream come true to be able to attend such an amazing university and to join a team of such exceptional guys. I truly can’t wait to be a Boilermaker. Boiler Up!!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented butterflyer and backstroker, Zerpa does his club swimming with Alpha Aquatics and most recently earned five best times at Carlsbad Sectionals after earning a trio of top-6 finishes at East LA Sectionals in December. In summer 2019, he collected bronze in the 100m back at the FAST Summer Junior Olympics before going on to final in two events at Mount Hood Futures.<\/p>\n
