NEW COMMITS: <\/b>The University of Denver has received a pair of verbal commitments for the fall of 2021 from Humble, Texas native <\/span>Grayson Hamous <\/b>and <\/span>Kieran Watson <\/b>of Mercer Island, Wash.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both talented swimmers will join <\/span>Marco Nosack<\/b><\/a> as a member of the Pioneers\u2019 Class of 2025. In 2020, Denver clinched their seventh-straight Summit League Championship title.<\/span><\/p>\n

GRAYSON HAMOUS<\/h1>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am proud to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Denver. Go Pios!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hamous does his club swimming with Blue Tide Aquatics and placed fifth in the mile and ninth in the 1000 free at TWST Southern Seniors in December. In summer 2019, he recorded a best time at the FCST Gulf Summer Championships before going on to collect bronze in both the 800m and 1500m free at Southern Zone Seniors.<\/span><\/p>\n

His best times include:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • 200 free – 1:44.01<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 500 free – 4:38.16<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 1000 free – 9:39.90<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 1650 free – 16:15.86<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Also competing for Kingwood Park High School, Hamous raced the 500 free at the Texas 6A State Championships as a junior. He was the 500 free runner-up and took fifth in the 200 free two weeks prior at the UIL 6A Region 06 Championships as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

    • 500 free – 4:34.22<\/li>\n
    • 1000 free – 9:35.47<\/li>\n
    • 1650 free – 15:58.26<\/li>\n
    • 200 IM – 1:52.92<\/li>\n
    • 400 IM – 3:59.07<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Currently a senior at Mercer Island High School, Watson is a five-time individual Washington 3A State Championship finalist. He was the runner-up in the 500 free and placed fifth in the 200 IM as a junior while taking fourth in the 500 free and fifth in the 100 back during his sophomore season. He also helped his team with the championship crown in 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
