NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>UCLA has picked up a new verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season from\u00a0Fay Lustria\u00a0<\/strong>of Portland, Ore. who will join San Jose, Calif. native Courtney Seljeseth<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Bruins’ Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am beyond ecstatic to announce my verbal commitment to UCLA! Their exceptional academics and outstanding athletics create a competitive atmosphere where I feel like I can thrive. The coaching staff and swim team appraise values that I strongly believe in, and I can\u2019t wait to partake in this amazing program. I\u2019d like to thank my family, friends, and coaches, especially Coach Franz Resseguie, for supporting me through this wild process! #GOBRUINS”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Lustria, who trains year-round with Tualatin Hills Swim Club for coach Franz Resseguie<\/strong>, holds 16 Oregon LSC records. SHe placed 12th in the 200 fly and 13th in the 400 IM at Juniors West in December before going on to win the 200 IM at the Washington Open in December.<\/p>\n

In summer 2019, she finished sixth in the 200m fly at Mount Hood Sectionals and won the 100m fly at the Oregon 11&O Championships. Lustria capped off her long course season by recording three top-15 finishes at Mount Hood Futures.<\/p>\n
