16-year-old Julia Podkoscielny\u00a0<\/strong>of Pine Crest Swimming<\/a> moved up to 62nd all-time in the 15-16 age group with a 1:55.39 in the 200 backstroke on Saturday morning. The swim is an improvement of her best time from 1:58.59 from April 2019 and is also a Florida Gold Coast LSC record, breaking the former record of Tasija Karosas<\/strong><\/a> (1:56.33) from 2011.<\/p>\n

Podkoscielny, just a sophomore, also swam a 1:59.85 in the 200 IM and a 53.75 in the 100 backstroke on Saturday.<\/p>\n

All three swims are best times for Podkoscielny, who was the Florida High School 2A state champ<\/a> in the 200 IM and 100 back last year. She sits just outside the top 100 all-time in the 15-16 age group in both the 100 back and 200 IM after today.<\/p>\n

Pine Crest School, which originally announced would not be participating in high school sports<\/a> for the fall, will be entering the FHSAA 2A state meet as the reigning champs for both boys and girls this season.<\/p>\n

In other action, Georgia Tech commit Joshua Hanks<\/strong><\/a> took wins in the 100 breaststroke (57.39) and 50 freestyle (21.22), as he finished second in the 100 freestyle (47.68) to Cornell commit Will Taner\u00a0<\/strong>(47.20).<\/p>\n
