NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Southern Methodist University has added another valuable addition for the fall of 2021 from in-state standout\u00a0Morgan Schield\u00a0<\/strong>of San Antonio, Texas.<\/p>\n

She will suit up for the Mustangs as a member of the class of 2025 along with\u00a0Kate Janzen<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Olivia Lind<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Ashley Lugbill<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Tiffanie Ruan<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I\u2019m beyond grateful to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at SMU! I owe it all to God and couldn\u2019t be more blessed with the family, coaches, and friends who have helped me in being able to continue doing what I love most. I\u2019m beyond excited for what lies ahead with such an incredible team and coaches. PONY UP\ufe0f”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented backstroker and butterflyer, Schield does her club swimming with Aquaswift Aquatics and most recently raced six events at College Station Sectionals in March. In summer 2019, she won the 200m back and was the runner-up in the 100m back at the STAGS Championships before going on to race at Des Moines Futures and NCSAs.<\/p>\n
