NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>San Jose, Calif. native and U.S. Open qualifier Courtney Seljeseth\u00a0<\/strong>has opted to stay in state for her college career after verbally committing to UCLA for the fall of 2022.<\/p>\n

She is the Bruins’ first public verbal commitment for the Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“UCLA’s exceptional academic program and team atmosphere caught my eye and I am excited to be joining the Bruin Family! I’ve enjoyed getting to know my teammates and coaches, feeling their energy and excitement even through the screens! Coach Jordan’s personality and passion for the team solidified my decision to become a Bruin! I am forever thankful for my family, friends, teammates and coaches who have given me nothing but support for this decision! See you in the pool! #GOBRUINS”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented breaststroker and IMer, Seljeseth trains year-round with Quicksilver Swimming and raced three events at Juniors West in December. She won the 100 breast at Far Westerns in April 2019 while also taking ninth in the 400 IM and 10th in the 50 free.<\/p>\n

Last summer, she raced to sixth place in the 100m breast and 12th in the 200m breast at Santa Clarita Sectionals before going on to race both of those events at Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n
