Shoma Sato<\/strong> and Waka Kobori<\/strong> set meet records in the 100 breaststroke and 400 free respectively and Tomoru Honda<\/strong> unleashed a 1:55.76 in the 200 fly on the second day of the Japan Student Swimming Championships.<\/p>\n

Suzuka Hasegawa<\/strong> again impressed with a 2:07.82 in the 200 fly while there was also a new meet mark of 3:40.26 for Toyo University<\/strong> in the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay down from 3:41.92.<\/p>\n

Sato – who got silver in the 200 breaststroke at last year’s World Junior Championships –\u00a0went 59.55 over two lengths at the Tokyo Tatsumi International Centre.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Out in 28.37, Sato was second at halfway behind Taishi Takada<\/strong> who had gone out in 28.20 before unleashing a second 50 of 31.18.<\/p>\n

His time cut 0.13 off the previous meet mark with Takada also going sub-60 in 59.94.<\/p>\n

Honda – who won silver behind Luca Urlando<\/strong> at last year’s world juniors – was third in the 200 fly at halfway, 0.83secs adrift.<\/p>\n

The Nihon University student split 60secs for the second 100 to overhaul his rivals, stopping the clock 0.40secs ahead of \u00a0Nao Horomura<\/strong> (1:56.16).<\/p>\n

Ayano Miyasaka<\/strong> took the women’s 100 breaststroke in 1:07.43, going out in 31.36 and back in 35.67.<\/p>\n

Hasegawa dominated the women’s 200 fly, leading from the start to win in 2:07.82 with Lin Xi second in 2:08.56.<\/p>\n
Hasegawa set a new personal best of 2:05.62 at the Tokyo Special Swimming Tournament at the end of August.<\/p>\n
Three-time Asian Games medallist Kobori unleashed a final length of 29.30secs to overhaul Mochizuki Kinuko<\/strong> to set a new meet record of 4:08.59 in the women’s 400 free.<\/p>\n
The pair had traded the lead with Kinuko holding a 0.38secs advantage at the 350 mark only for Kobori\u00a0 to roar past her for victory, the former stopping the clock in 4:08.81.<\/p>\n
Ryo Nakajima<\/strong> won the men’s race in 3:49.01.<\/p>\n
Toshiya Yuhara<\/strong> won the women’s 200 back in 2:09.77 with Riku Matsuyama<\/strong> taking the men’s in 2:00.14.<\/p>\n
Meiji University won the men’s 4×100 free in 3:17.72.<\/p>\n
