NEW COMMIT: <\/b>Enfield, Conn. native <\/span>Aislin Farris <\/b>has given the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill their first verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

She will arrive in Chapel Hill as a member of the Tar Heels\u2019 Class of 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim for the University of North Carolina!! I am so grateful to my coaches, family, and friends who have supported me along the way. I can\u2019t wait to be a part of the UNC swim family and achieve my goals both in the water and in the classroom. Go Heels!!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Farris swims year-round with <\/span>Bluefish Swim Club, the same team that produced Olympian <\/span>Elizabeth Beisel<\/b>. Like Beisel, Farris also excels in a number of different events, especially the 200\/400 IM and 200 back. Her coach, <\/span>Chuck Batchelor<\/b>, is a UNC alum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Farris most recently finished seventh in the 400m IM, eighth in the 200m back, 11th in the 100m back, and 12th in the 200m fly at Plantation Sectionals in March pre-COVID. She also recorded seven best times at New England Seniors in December which included a runner-up finish in the mile and two third-place showings in the 200 back and 400 IM.<\/span><\/p>\n

  • 200 IM \u2013 2:05.20<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 200 back \u2013 1:59.80<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 200 fly \u2013 2:01.34<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 1650 free \u2013 16:42.28<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 1000 free \u2013 10:11.82<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 500 free \u2013 4:53.60<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Last summer, she recorded a trio of top-5 finishes at New England LCM Seniors before going on to race the 200m back at Phillips 66 Nationals. Farris raced three events at Junior Nationals, notching a best time in the 100m back.<\/span><\/p>\n

    She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Even with just under two years to go before suiting up for the Tar Heels, Farris will make an immediate impact in a number of different events. She would\u2019ve placed 14th in the mile at the 2020 ACC Championships while her best time in the 400 IM would\u2019ve scored in the C-final.<\/span><\/p>\n
