NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Marshall University has received a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Ocean Springs, Miss. native Gabrielle Ivey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She will join Jenna Bopp<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Leigh Lopez-Silvers<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Sofia Bormett<\/b><\/a>\u00a0in Huntington as a member of The Herd\u2019s class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am beyond blessed to announce, I will be furthering my athletic and academic career at Marshall University. I am so grateful for God, my parents, coaches, friends and everyone who has supported me to reach this point. I can’t wait to see what Huntington holds for me! #wearemarshall”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ivey does her club swimming with Biloxi Elite Swim Team and finished sixth in the 200 back at Cary Sectionals in March after recording seven top-3 finishes at the Mississippi State Championships in February. Last summer, she won seven gold medals at the Mississippi LCM State Championships.<\/p>\n
