NEW COMMIT: <\/b>Austria native <\/span>Martin Espernberger <\/b>has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Tennessee for the fall of 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

He will join <\/span>Garret Green<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Nick Simons<\/b><\/a> in Knoxville as a member of the Vols\u2019 Class of 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

He told <\/span>Swimming World:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cI am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Tennessee!!! I chose Tennessee because of the many amazing opportunities and the incredible coaching staff. Thank you to my family, friends and coaches for their continued support. I can’t wait to be a part of the fam! GO VOLS! #gbo\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Espernberger most recently swept all three butterfly events at the Duel in the Pool against the Czech Republic in July. At the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku, he finished seventh in the 100m fly and 10th in the 200m fly.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a member of the Austrian Youth National Team, Espernberger is the Austrian Youth National record-holder in the 100m fly. When he was in Florida, he trained with the Bolles School Sharks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
