NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Florida State University has added a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2021 from sprint freestyler Destany “Des” Lewis\u00a0<\/strong>of Grand Terrace, Calif.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Brooke Arnold<\/strong><\/a>, Maddy Huggins<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Jenny Bird<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/a>Alexandra Dicks<\/a>,\u00a0Ella Dyjak<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Rachel Moran<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Tallahassee as a member of the Seminoles\u2019 class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“In case you didn\u2019t NOLE, I committed!! I am absolutely stoked to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Florida State University! I would like to thank my friends, family, coaches, and teammates for their endless support, and God for leading me to the school of my dreams! I am so extremely blessed to be apart of the Seminole family! ?”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Lewis does her club swimming with Socal Aquatics Association and placed 16th in the 50 free at East Los Angeles Sectionals in December. Last summer, she was the runner-up in the 50m free at the FAST Junior Olympics before going on to take 16th in her signature event at Mount Hood Futures.<\/p>\n
