NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Distance ace\u00a0Alex Ispas\u00a0<\/strong>of Coto de Caza, Calif. has announced his verbal commitment to Northwestern University as a member of the Wildcats’ class of 2025.<\/p>\n

He will arrive in Evanston, Ill. at the start of the 2021-22 season along with\u00a0Tyler Lu<\/strong><\/a> and Daniel Matheson<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am proud to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Northwestern University. I would like to thank everyone that has supported me through this process. Go Cats!!! ?”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ispas, who does his club swimming with Mission Viejo Nadadores, raced four events at the Toyota U.S. Open in December and most recently posted a pair of top-20 finishes at College Station Sectionals in March. In 2018, he raced to 18th place in the mile at Juniors West.<\/p>\n

While representing the Austrian Swimming Federation internationally, Ispas competed in three events at the 7th FINA World Junior Championships in Budapest. He also placed 13th in the 1500m free and 15th in the 800m free at the LEN European Junior Championships last summer.<\/p>\n
