NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Notre Dame has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from backstroker Bryce Ortanes\u00a0<\/strong>of Englewood, Colo.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Parker Macy<\/strong><\/a>, Andrew Guziec<\/b><\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Nick Tommasone<\/b><\/a>,\u00a0Chris Guiliano<\/b><\/a>,\u00a0Max Myers<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Owen Grimaldi\u00a0<\/b><\/a>with the Fighting Irish as a member of the class of 2025.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I am beyond humbled to announce my verbal commitment to swim as a fighting Irish at the University of Notre Dame. I\u2019d like to thank my parents, my coaches, and the amazing support from everyone around me. Go Irish!\u2618\ufe0f\u2618\ufe0f”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ortanes, who owns three Junior National standards, does his club swimming with Aquawolves Swim Team and placed 12th in the 50 free and 13th in the 100 back at Juniors West in December. Last summer, he recorded three top-8 finishes at Colorado LCM Seniors before going on to finish fourth in both the 50m free and 100m back at Western Zones.<\/p>\n
