NEW COMMITS:\u00a0<\/strong>Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) has received a pair of verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Dunlap, Ill. native Taylor Weaver\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Emmaleigh Zietlow\u00a0<\/strong>of Hartland, Wisc.<\/p>\n

Primarily a backstroker and IMer, Weaver does her club swimming with the Dunlap Dolphins under coach Max Spencer <\/strong>and competed in four events at Illinois Seniors in March. Last summer, she raced six events at Illinois LCM Seniors where she recorded a best time in the 50m back.<\/p>\n

Her best times include:<\/p>\n

  • 100 back \u2013 58.85<\/li>\n
  • 200 back \u2013 2:06.43<\/li>\n
  • 200 IM \u2013 2:10.86<\/li>\n
  • 400 IM \u2013 4:37.73<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Also competing for Dunlap High School, Weaver has raced at the Illinois State Championships the last two seasons. She won both the 100 back and 200 IM at the IHSA East Moline Section meet as a junior and was named the Girls Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Year by the Peoria Journal Star.<\/p>\n

    Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

    “I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at IUPUI. I am so thankful to my amazing family, friends, teammates and coaches for their support throughout my swimming career and helping me prepare for this moment. My future team and coaches have been amazing and I can’t wait to represent the Jaguars next year. The best is yet to come! GO JAGS!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Lake Country Swim Team, Zietlow placed second in the 1000 free and fourth in the 500 free and 400 IM at the Wisconsin 13&O State Championships in March. She also notched a best time at Minneapolis Sectionals last summer before going on to earn bronze in the 800m free at the Wisconsin 13&O LCM State Championships<\/p>\n

    Her best times include:<\/p>\n

    • 200 free – 1:51.77<\/li>\n
    • 500 free – 4:57.82<\/li>\n
    • 1000 free – 10:09.18<\/li>\n
    • 200 IM – 2:07.31<\/li>\n
    • 400 IM – 4:25.49<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      A current senior at Arrowhead High School, Zietlow is a four-time Wisconsin DI State Championship finalist. She finished 10th in both the 200 free and 500 free as a junior while taking fourth and fifth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n
