NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/b>Breaststroker and IMer\u00a0Reese Dehan\u00a0<\/strong>of Ramsey, Minn. has announced her verbal commitment to The Ohio State University as a member of the Buckeyes’ class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Mia Rankin<\/strong><\/a>, Nyah Funderburke<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Allie Fenska<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Teresa Ivan<\/strong>,\u00a0Mackenzie DeWitt<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Malia<\/strong>\u00a0Rausch<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Mairin O\u2019Brien<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Paige Hall<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Gwen Woodbury\u00a0<\/b><\/a>\u00a0in Columbus in the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at THE Ohio State University!!! I\u2019d like to thank my friends, family, coaches, teachers, and teammates for the endless support. I can\u2019t wait to be part of such an amazing team and school. GO BUCKS!!! ?\u2764\ufe0f\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A Junior National qualifier, Dehen raced three events at the Toyota U.S. Open in December before going on to place 15th in the 200m breast at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Des Moines in March. Last summer, she had three top-5 finishes at Minnesota LCM Seniors and placed eighth in the 100m breast and ninth in the 200m breast at NCSAs.<\/p>\n

She does her club swimming with The Great Wolf Swim Team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her best times include:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • 50 breast – 29.83<\/li>\n
  • 100 breast – 1:02.07<\/li>\n
  • 200 breast – 2:13.63<\/li>\n
  • 200 IM – 2:01.16<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Also competing for Anoka High School, Dehan is a six-time Minnesota Class AA State Championship finalist. <\/span>The NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 100 breast and 200 IM as a junior while taking second and first, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Dehan will add valuable breaststroke depth to the Buckeyes’ lineup next fall and she will join a training group led by\u00a0Hannah Bach<\/strong> and Josephine Panitz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
