NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Florida has splashed into their Class of 2026 recruiting after receiving an in-state verbal commitment from sprint superstar Dawson Joyce\u00a0<\/strong>of Sanford, Fla.<\/p>\n

He will arrive in Gainesville at the start of the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I\u2019d like to announce my verbal commitment to swim for the University of Florida. I would like to thank Coach Tony Ackerson, teammates, family, and friends who have helped me through this journey. #GoGators ?”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented sprinter across multiple strokes, Joyce trains year-round with Florida State University Club and owns several Junior National standards. He was the 50 fly runner-up and secured bronze medals in the 50 free and 50 back at the Florida Spring Championships in 2019. Last summer, he won three events at Florida LCM Seniors after taking sixth in both the 50m free and 50m back at Gainesville Sectionals.<\/p>\n

Joyce also made headlines<\/a> at the Patriot Aquatics Spring LCM Meet in May 2018.<\/p>\n
