FOURTH-ranked California handed Rice its first defeat of the season Sunday afternoon, as the Golden Bears overpowered the Owls<br \/>\n146-105 in dual-meet action at Spieker Aquatics Complex.<\/p>\n<p>Lauren Hill and Elaine Lee each won two events for the Owls, with Hill finishing first in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and Lee capturing first place in the 100 and 200 butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Mandy Mularz was victorious in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.57, while Jenny Voight nabbed a first place finish in the 400 individual medley.<\/p>\n<p>Rice now owns a 3-1 dual-meet record, and the Owls receive their next challenge when seventh-ranked Texas visits Rice Pool Saturday, Nov. 23 for a 1 p.m. meet.<\/p>\n<p>Women&#39;s Swimming<br \/>\nCALIFORNIA 146<br \/>\nRICE       105<\/p>\n<p>Sunday, November 17, 2002<br \/>\nSpieker Aquatics Complex<br \/>\nBerkeley, Calif.<\/p>\n<p>25 yard pool<\/p>\n<p>200 Medley Relay<br \/>\n1.
