The Virginia Cavaliers<\/a> picked up another big-time recruit in the 2022 class with the recent verbal commitment from\u00a0Zoe Skirboll<\/strong>\u00a0just 24 hours after Claire Tuggle<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>announced her commitment to Virginia. Skirboll comes to Charlottesville via Racer X Aquatics in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

Zoe Skirboll is a solid sprint freestyler and breaststroker in this class as she reached the A-Final in the 50 freestyle at last summer’s Juniors and also swam in the 100 breast A-Final in the Juniors East Championships in December. She should be a valuable asset for the Cavaliers, who were seeded to win the 2020 NCAAs before the meet was cancelled to slow down the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

By the time she gets to campus in the fall of 2022,\u00a0Kate Douglass\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Ella Nelson\u00a0<\/strong>will be in their senior seasons, as Virginia has built a strong women’s team that should be able to compete for national championships in the coming years assuming they keep their momentum going. But with the way coaches\u00a0Todd DeSorbo\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Tyler Fenwick\u00a0<\/strong>have done in the recruiting game, it looks like Virginia will be here to stay for the time being.<\/p>\n
