{"id":444157,"date":"2020-08-17T03:06:25","date_gmt":"2020-08-17T10:06:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=444157"},"modified":"2020-08-17T03:06:25","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T10:06:25","slug":"fina-announce-2021-world-cup-dates-after-coronavirus-forces-2020-postponement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/fina-announce-2021-world-cup-dates-after-coronavirus-forces-2020-postponement\/","title":{"rendered":"FINA Announce 2021 World Cup Dates After Coronavirus Forces 2020 Postponement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FINA<\/strong> have announced the Swimming World Cup 2021 calendar which will take in six legs in September and October across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.<\/p>\n<p>It follows confirmation that the FINA Task Force &#8211; which was set up in March to monitor the ongoing pandemic and the safety of\u00a0 those involved in aquatics &#8211; had postponed the 2020 World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday the world governing body released the schedule for next year&#8217;s World Cup &#8211; worth about 2.5 million US dollars &#8211; which will start weeks after the conclusion of the rescheduled Olympic Games in Tokyo.<\/p>\n<p>All six competitions will be held in a short-course pool and will serve as qualification events for the <strong>World Championships (25m)<\/strong> that will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n<p>They had been scheduled for this coming December but were pushed back a year to December 13-18 2021 because of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>The first cluster of the 2021 season will be contested in <strong>Singapore<\/strong> and <strong>Jinan, China,<\/strong> in September with the dates to be confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The circuit will then move on to <strong>Berlin, Germany,<\/strong> and <strong>Budapest, Hungary,<\/strong> from October 1-3 and October 7-9 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The third and final cluster will be staged in <strong>Doha, Qatar,<\/strong> from October 21-23 and will conclude in <strong>Kazan, Russia,<\/strong> from October 28-30.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Advertising: Shop At Swim360<br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/ads.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/absolutebm.aspx?b=1546\"><\/script><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FINA have announced the Swimming World Cup 2021 calendar which will take in six legs in September and October across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
