NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Littleton, Colo. native Avery Turney <\/strong>has announced her verbal commitment* to continue her athletic and academic career at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island beginning in the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Evie Krall<\/strong><\/a>, Jenna Reznicek<\/strong><\/a>, Sara Barrett<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Ellie Brault<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Bears\u2019 class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Brown University, where I will continue to pursue my goals in the water and have the opportunity to learn at such a prestigious school! A big thanks to my friends, family, and coaches who helped me get to this point! #gobruno”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented sprint freestyler, Turney does her club swimming with Foothills Swim Team and earned a best time in the 50 free at Juniors West in December. Last summer, she sprinted to fifth place in the 50m free before going on to take 10th in that event at Des Moines Futures.<\/p>\n
