Native <\/span><b>Katrina Mortenson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She will arrive in Cambridge as a member of the Crimson\u2019s class of 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>\u201cI am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Harvard University!! I am honored and blessed to be able to be joining the amazing Harvard Swim and Dive family and I\u2019m so grateful for this incredible opportunity. I look forward to the challenge of achieving my academic and athletic goals. Thank you so much to my family, friends, and coaches who have been so supportive over the years. GO CRIMSON!!\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A talented sprinter, Mortenson does her club swimming with Alpha Aquatics and is a Junior National qualifier. She most recently finaled in the 50 free at Carlsbad Sectionals after finishing 22nd in the 100 free at Juniors West in December. Last summer, she earned silver in the 50m\/100m free at Mount Hood Futures before going on to race those events at Junior Nationals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her best times include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">50 free &#8211; 23.30<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100 free &#8211; 49.98<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">200 free &#8211; 1:51.02<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100 fly &#8211; 56.98<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also competing for Crossroads School, Mortenson is a three-time CIF State Championship finalist. She placed fourth in the 100 free and 15th in the 50 free as a sophomore while taking 15th in the 100 free during her sophomore season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mortenson will make an immediate impact both individually and on relays when she suits up for the Crimson next year.
