NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Butterflyer Katie Cho <\/strong>of Fullerton, Calif. has opted to stay in state for her college career and has handed her verbal commitment to UC San Diego.<\/p>\n

She will join fellow in-state native Lexi DePaco<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>of Danville, Calif. as a member of the Tritons’ class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at UCSD! I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for supporting me throughout the years. Can\u2019t wait to be a Triton!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented butterflyer, Cho does her club swimming with La Mirada Armada and is a Junior National qualifier. She finished 24th in the 200 fly at Juniors West in December and had a strong showing at Indy Sectionals in 2019. Last summer, she raced to ninth place in the 200m fly at Santa Clarita Sectionals before going on to take 18th in that event at Mount Hood Futures.<\/p>\n
