NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The Woodlands, Texas native\u00a0Cotton Fields\u00a0<\/strong>has pledged his in-state verbal commitment to Southern Methodist University<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Sawyer Inglis <\/strong><\/a>and\u00a0Angus Corbeau<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Mustangs in the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

He told Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am excited to announce that I have committed to swim at SMU in the class of 2025! I want to thank the special people in my life who have helped me make this decision, and supported me tirelessly. I truly can\u2019t wait to continue my academic and athletic careers on the Hilltop, and I look forward to the next chapter as a mustang!! #ponyup”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented IMer and backstroker, Fields does his club swimming with The Woodlands Swim Team and is a Junior National qualifier. He most recently raced to fifth place in the 200 back at College Station Sectionals and earned 100% best times at Juniors West in December.<\/p>\n

Last summer, Fields had an incredibly strong showing at Southern Zone Seniors. He achieved seven new lifetime bests and won the 200m IM and 400m IM while also collecting silver in the 100m back and 200m back.<\/p>\n
