Emma Shaughnessy verbally commits to the Hoosiers.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT: <\/b>Indiana University has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Freehold, N.J. native and talented breaststroker <\/span>Emma Shaughnessy<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

She will join <\/span>Sydney Turner<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Brearna<\/b> Crawford<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Kabria Chapman<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Elyse Heiser<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Anna Peoplowski<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Mariah Denigan<\/b><\/a> in Bloomington as a member of the Hoosiers\u2019 class of 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>I’m super excited and blessed to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic careers at Indiana University! Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for all of their support throughout this journey. Go Hoosiers!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A U.S. Open qualifier, Shaughnessy does her club swimming with the Red Bank Aquarockets Y and was the runner-up in the 100 breast and placed sixth in the 200 breast at the EEX Holiday Classic in December. Last summer, she raced to third in the 50m breast and fifth in the 100m breast at YMCA Long Course Nationals.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also finished 14th in the 100 breast at the YMCA Short Course National Championships in April 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
