NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>After originally committing<\/a> to East Carolina University<\/a>, in-state standout\u00a0Reece Alexander\u00a0<\/strong>of Pfafftown, N.C. has sent her verbal commitment to University of North Carolina, Wilmington for the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

She is newly-appointed head coach\u00a0Bobby Guntoro’s<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>first commitment for the class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“As God closes one door, he opens another. I am very excited to say that I\u2019ve decided to stay in NC and swim at UNCW for the class of 2025. I\u2019m very thankful for the ECU coaches and also for the other coaches who have recruited me during this difficult transition. However, I am SO honored to have the opportunity to swim under Bobby Guntoro. Cannot wait to see where this takes my future team… Go Seahawks ?\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Alexander, who owns the Winter Juniors cut in the 100 fly, does her club swimming with Northwest North Carolina YMCA Riptyde and won the 100 fly at the 27th Arena Capital Classic in December. She finaled in the 50m fly this last summer at YMCA LCM Nationals and raced both fly events at YMCA SCY Nationals in April 2019.<\/p>\n
