{"id":440865,"date":"2020-07-22T14:33:25","date_gmt":"2020-07-22T21:33:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=440865"},"modified":"2020-07-22T14:33:25","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T21:33:25","slug":"colorado-4a-state-champion-and-record-holder-lindsey-immel-verbally-commits-to-nc-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/colorado-4a-state-champion-and-record-holder-lindsey-immel-verbally-commits-to-nc-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Colorado 4A State Champion and Record Holder Lindsey Immel Verbally Commits to NC State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>NC State University has recently scored a new verbal commitment for the class of 2025 from\u00a0<strong>Lindsey Immel\u00a0<\/strong>of Colorado Springs, Colo.<\/p>\n<p>She will arrive in Raleigh in the fall of 2021 along with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-juniors-finalist-annabel-crush-announces-2021-verbal-to-nc-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Annabel Crush<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and twins <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/caroline-sheble-sends-verbal-to-nc-state-will-join-sister-for-2021-22-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Caroline\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/u-s-national-junior-teamer-world-juniors-finalist-grace-sheble-verbally-commits-to-nc-state-for-2021-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grace Sheble<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>She told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>&#8220;I&#8217;m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at NC State! Thank you to every coach, teammate, and family member that helped me get where I am today! I can&#8217;t wait to be a part of the Pack!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A talented sprint freestyler and backstroker, Immel swims year-round with Colorado Springs Swim Team under head coach <strong>Luke Schumm<\/strong> and is a Junior National qualifier. Last summer, she posted five top-18 finishes at the CAC Long Course Open before going on to earn silver in the 100m free at TYR Summer Seniors.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 free &#8211; 23.53<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 50.32<\/li>\n<li>100 back &#8211; 56.45<\/li>\n<li>200 back &#8211; 2:02.73<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also competing for Rampart High School for <strong>Dan Greene<\/strong>, Immel is a six-time Colorado 4A State Championship finalist. She won the 50 free and 100 free as a junior while taking second and first, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season. The six-time school record-holder also raced to fourth and fifth in those events in her rookie campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Immel anchored her school&#8217;s winning 4&#215;50 medley relay this past season that set the 4A state record.
