World champions Kristof Milak<\/strong> and Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> are among the swimmers set to compete at the inaugural 4 Nations Swimming Meet<\/strong> from Friday 24 July in Budapest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The three-day meet will be held at the Szechy Swimming Arena<\/strong> which is part of the Alfr\u00e9d Haj\u00f3s National Swimming Stadium<\/strong>\u00a0on Margaret Island, the pool built as part of the renovations preceding the 2006 European Championships.<\/p>\n

As well as hosts Hungary, Austria<\/strong> and the Czech Republic<\/strong> will make up the competition although Germany has withdrawn after intending to compete and instead Poland<\/strong> will now compete.<\/p>\n

The start of the competition marks the date that Tokyo 2020<\/strong> was originally scheduled to open only for the Games to be pushed back a year in the wake of the coronavirus.<\/p>\n
The opening of the competition marks a year to the day since Milak set about dismantling Michael Phelps\u2019<\/strong> world record in the 200 fly at the World Championships<\/strong> in Gwangju.<\/p>\n
Then aged 19, Milak took a huge 0.76sec chunk off the mark Phelps had set at the 2009 World Championships<\/strong> in Rome, Italy, to set a new mark of 1:50.73.<\/p>\n
The Hungarian will take on the 50, 100 and 200 fly and 100 and 200 free on Margaret Island.<\/p>\n
Hosszu is slated for both IM events while Laszlo Cseh<\/strong> \u2013 the six-time Olympic medallist \u2013 will meet Milak in the two fly races but is also entered in the 100 breaststroke.<\/p>\n
Poland include Marcin Cieslak, Filip Zaborowski, Kacper Stokowski<\/strong> and Kacper Majchrzak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
Felix Aubock, Marlene Kahler, Lena Grabowski<\/strong> and Christopher Rothbauer<\/strong> are among those set to compete for Austria.<\/p>\n
