COVID-19 Concerns Cause Two New Jersey Swim Clubs to Close Temporarily<\/strong><\/p>\n

Concerns over COVID-19 have caused the closure of two swim clubs in south New Jersey this week after positive coronavirus tests at each and a growing number of cases in the region.<\/p>\n

According to the report by Cherry Hill\u2019s Patch<\/a>, the two clubs are Cherry Valley Swim Club and Covered Bridge Swim Club. The former reported an employee testing positive, while the latter also had a case at the club.<\/p>\n

Cherry Valley has since reopened after closing for cleaning Wednesday. It has instituted changes in its schedule to try to limit exposure and accommodate staffing changes, and it reiterated in a statement to its members to continue using the health and safety procedures in place. From the statement<\/a>:<\/p>\n

We have been very diligent in addressing the cleaning and sanitizing of the pool grounds since we opened the club this season. Members have been following the new chair procedure to ensure proper sanitizing each night. The recommendation to wear a mask has been followed by many staff members working the Checker area and the Snack Bar. The Managers continue to stress the importance of proper Social Distancing to our staff.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Covered Bridge will reopen Sunday, July 19<\/a>, following a full professional cleaning.<\/p>\n

New Jersey was one of the early hotspots in America\u2019s COVID-19 outbreak, particularly in the northern reaches of the state in the suburbs of New York City. Cherry Hill is toward the other end of the state, outside of Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Camden County<\/a> has had 8,337 total COVID-19 cases, as of July 17, and 514 deaths. Its level of new cases remains consistent, though down from a peak in early May. Camden County reported 248 new cases in the last seven days of available data from the state of New Jersey (July 11-17).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
