The USA Swimming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usa-swimming-elects-four-new-members-to-board-of-directors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Board of Directors<\/a> approved the following event sanctions for August 2020:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LSC&#8217;s will be limited to the sanctioning of meets comprised only of athletes and clubs registered within the LSC.<\/li>\n<li>There will be no restrictions on the use of times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This means that if a meet is to be held in Indiana, only teams from the Indiana LSC will be allowed to compete in that meet. If a team from the neighboring Illinois LSC wants to compete in an Indiana meet, they will need permission from both the host club&#8217;s LSC and the adjacent LSC. This will apply only for meets in the month of August, and updates should occur periodically.<\/p>\n<p>USA Swimming&#8217;s first scheduled national level meet will be the TYR Pro Swim Series November 5 &#8211; 8 in Richmond, Virginia, with another Pro Series occurring a week later in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usa-swimming-revises-schedule-adds-irvine-pro-series-stop-in-november\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Irvine, California<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Full letter from USA Swimming<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/news\/2020\/07\/17\/august-sanctions-update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Dear members,<\/p>\n<p>As we continue to navigate these challenging times, we remain focused on supporting our teams and members in their return to training and competition.<\/p>\n<p>We are aware of the considerable differences and effects of the COVID-19 crisis across the country and are being mindful of these as we further develop our \u201ccrawl, walk, race\u201d strategies, initially introduced in June.<\/p>\n<p>Following input from athletes, coaches, committee volunteers, and staff, the USA Swimming Board of Directors approved the following event sanctions for August 2020:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LSCs will be limited to the sanctioning of meets comprised only of athletes and clubs registered within the LSC.*<\/li>\n<li>There will be no restrictions on the use of times<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(*A club, geographically isolated within their LSC, may be granted the opportunity to compete in an adjacent LSC with permission from both the club\u2019s LSC and the adjacent LSC.)<\/p>\n<p>More than anything, it is important to remember that all training and competition must conform to local, state, and federal public health guidelines.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>USA Swimming provided an update regarding its return to pool strategy that was initially introduced in June following input from athletes, coaches, committee volunteers, and staff.
