{"id":440046,"date":"2020-07-15T14:36:33","date_gmt":"2020-07-15T21:36:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=440046"},"modified":"2020-07-15T14:36:33","modified_gmt":"2020-07-15T21:36:33","slug":"polish-junior-champion-mateusz-dubas-to-join-florida-gators-this-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/polish-junior-champion-mateusz-dubas-to-join-florida-gators-this-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Polish Junior Champion Mateusz Dubas to Join Florida Gators This Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Florida<\/a> men&#8217;s swimming and diving team and head coach <strong>Anthony Nesty<\/strong> has officially announced the addition of <strong>Mateusz Dubas<\/strong>, who will join the Gators for the 2020-21 season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dubas, a native of Siemianowice Slaskie, Poland, heads to Gainesville after achieving various success in international and national competition as a member and representative of the Poland Junior National Team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the course of his career, he has won multiple Polish Junior Championships and medals in both the breaststroke and IM events, as well as finishing as a semifinalist at the European Junior Championships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He has set personal-best long-course times at the Polish National Championships this May in the 400 IM (4:27.17) and 100 breast (1:04.18).
