NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Futures qualifier\u00a0Sydney Metzler\u00a0<\/strong>of Arvada, Colo. has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Wyoming and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

She will join in-state native\u00a0Katie McPherson<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Pokes’ class of 2025.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am beyond ecstatic and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Wyoming!! I can\u2019t wait to be part of such a wonderful family!! Blessed, grateful, and happy barely scratch the surface of how I am feeling. I want to thank the coaches at the University of Wyoming for providing me with such an amazing opportunity. I also want to thank my family, teammates, and coaches who have helped me grow as a person in and out of the water. I can not wait to be a cowgirl!! Go Pokes!!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

An extremely versatile swimmer, Metzler does her club swimming with Elevation Athletics and recorded four top-6 finishes at the CSI Pioneer Open in December. Last summer, she finished 16th in the 200m back at Mount Hood Sectionals and finaled in two events at Phoenix Sectionals in March 2019.<\/p>\n
