NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>U.S. Open qualifier\u00a0James Don\u00a0<\/strong>of Closter, N.J. has announced his verbal commitment to the United States Military Academy and will arrive on campus at the start of the 2021-22 season.<\/p>\n

He will join Jackson Pogue<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Ian Shahan<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in West Point as a member of Army\u2019s Class of 2025.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the United States Military Academy at West Point. I would like to thank my coaches, teammates, family, and friends. #beatnavy”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented distance freestyler, Don does his club swimming with Scarlet Aquatics and earned a best time at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville back in January. Last summer, he registered five top-10 finishes at Rutgers Sectionals before going on to win the 800m free at the New Jersey Junior Olympics.<\/p>\n
