NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Lido Beach, N.Y. native\u00a0Joan “Joanie” Cash <\/strong>has verbally committed to UCLA and will arrive on campus at the start of the 2021-22 season.<\/p>\n

She will suit up for the Bruins as a member of the class of 2025 along with Mia Chang<\/strong>, Morgan Hawes<\/strong>, Taylor Schaffer<\/strong><\/a>, Paige MacEachern<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Eva Carlson<\/strong>,\u00a0Ana Jih-Schiff<\/strong>,\u00a0Kathryn Lundh<\/strong>, and\u00a0Ashley Stenstrom<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at UCLA! This is a dream come true and I am so thankful for my family, coaches, teammates and friends who helped me get here. Go Bruins!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented sprinter, Cash is a U.S. Open qualifier and does her club swimming with Long Island Aquatic Club. She most recently had a pair of top-6 finishes at Metropolitan Seniors and raced four events at the U.S. Open. Last summer, she placed sixth in both the 50m free and 100m free before going on to compete at Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n
