NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Phoenix, Az. native\u00a0Mia Rankin\u00a0<\/strong>has verbally committed to The Ohio State University and will suit up for the Buckeyes as a member of the class of 2025, as she announced via\u00a0College Swimming<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Rankin was named Swimming World’s\u00a0<\/em>Up & Comer<\/a> in February 2018.<\/p>\n

She will join Nyah Funderburke<\/strong><\/a>, Allie Fenska<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Teresa Ivan<\/strong>,\u00a0Mackenzie DeWitt<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Malia<\/strong>\u00a0Rausch<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Mairin O\u2019Brien<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Paige Hall<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Gwen Woodbury <\/b><\/a>\u00a0in Columbus in the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I’m honored to announce my commitment to swim for The Ohio State University! Looking forward to my next 4 years as a buckeye”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented distance freestyler and IMer, Rankin swims year-round with Phoenix Swim Club and owns several U.S. Open and Junior National standards. She most recently posted a pair of top-18 finishes at Arizona Seniors after racing five events at the Toyota U.S. Open. Last summer, she won the 400m IM at Mount Hood Sectionals where she also placed fourth in the 1500m free.<\/p>\n
