No other man or woman has won an Olympic diving title in three consecutive Olympic Games.\u00a0 He very nearly won four, missing the first of what would have been four consecutive 10-meter platform titles by 1.04 points to <strong>Bob Webster<\/strong> (USA) at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games.\u00a0 Tall, soft spoken and handsome, this Austro-Italian from Bolzano, Italy was king of the tower from 1964 through his retirement in 1976.\u00a0 Coached by his father, <strong>Carlo<\/strong>, fondly known as \u201cPapa\u201d, a former Olympian himself, (1936 Olympics) and National Champion (1933-1936).\u00a0 Klaus went on to succeed him as National Coach after his third gold medal in Montreal in 1976.<\/p>\n<p>DiBiasi also excelled at the first two FINA World Aquatic Championships, 1973 and 1975 winning four medals, two gold on the platform and two silver on the springboard.\u00a0 Klaus was a three-time European Champion, twice on the platform and one on the springboard and Nationally DiBiasi won 11 platform and seven springboard titles.\u00a0 Nine times DiBiasi was named Platform Diver of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Klaus DiBiasi was and the Italian team were staples at ISHOF\u2019s International\/Can-Am-Max Meet held every May in Fort Lauderdale.\u00a0 They began coming in the early 1970\u2019s and came every year until Klaus retired.\u00a0 DiBiasi came back to Fort Lauderdale in the Spring of 1981, when he was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame as an Honor Diver.<\/p>\n<p>Klaus DiBiasi is \u201cOne in a Thousand. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.swimmingworld.com\/collections\/one-in-a-thousand-club\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/ONE-IN-THOUSAND.png\" alt=\"ONE IN THOUSAND\" width=\"197\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The International Swimming Hall of Fame wants to know if you are one in a thousand?\u00a0 We think you are!\u00a0 Show how special you are and become a member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/product-category\/ishof-membership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">One In A Thousand\u201d<\/a> Club.\u00a0 Help keep the International Swimming Hall of Fame moving forward toward a new vision and museum by joining now!<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>During these unprecedented times, the ISHOF Board is calling on every member in the aquatic community to make a small monthly commitment of support to show how special you are and how special the International Swimming Hall of Fame is to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<em>Our goal is simple.
