NEW COMMITS:\u00a0<\/strong>Plano, Texas native\u00a0Antonio Romero\u00a0<\/strong>and Leandro Odorici<\/strong> of Brazil have both announced their verbal commitments to Georgia Tech for the fall of 2021.<\/p>\n

Both swimmers will join Scott Haney<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Mert Kilavuz<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Berke Saka<\/strong><\/a>, Matt Steele<\/strong><\/a>, and Sean Simms<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Atlanta as members of the Yellow Jackets\u2019 class of 2025.<\/p>\n

LEANDRO ODORICI<\/h1>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I am very happy to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Georgia Tech University.\u00a0 The team, the coaches and the campus are unique.\u00a0 I am very lucky to have the support of my family, friends and coaches who have been extremely important during my journey.\u00a0 I\u2019m excited to be part of this wonderful team. Go Jackets!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented sprinter, Odorici won the Brazilian Age Group titles in the 50m\/100m free combo back in 2018. He most recently represented Brazil at the 2020 UANA Cup in Lima, Peru, where he won gold in the 50m breast, took silver in the 50m\/100m free, and grabbed bronze in the 100m breast. His 4x50m medley relay also collected the gold medal.<\/p>\n
