NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Kentucky has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Madeline “Maddie” Welborn <\/strong>of Katy, Texas.<\/p>\n

She will join will join Megan Ciezczak<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Annie Galvin<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Emma Hermeston<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Sydney Stricklin<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Madeline Wenig<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Wildcats\u2019 class of 2025.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I’m so excited to officially announce my verbal commitment to the swim and study at the University of Kentucky! I would like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone else who helped make this possible. Can’t wait to be a wildcat!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Primarily a freestyler and backstroker, Welborn does her club swimming with Katy Aquatics and owns the Junior National cut in the 100m free. She most recently won three events at the Gulf Short Course Championships in February after achieving three best times at Juniors West in December. Last summer, she finaled in five events at NCSAs.<\/p>\n
