Thankful to God for giving me my ability, and thankful to my family, friends, teammates and Coach Marshall for all the support to get me to this point. Go Gamecocks! #Spursup&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Kerns, who owns the Montana State Open records in the 100m and 200m breast, does his club swimming with Billings Aquatic Club and owns the U.S. Open cut in both breaststroke events. He most recently collected three gold medals and five best times at the Montana SCY Championships. Last summer, he won four events at the Montana LCM Championships before going on to earn silver in the 200m breast at Des Moines Futures.<\/p>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 breast &#8211; 26.50<\/li>\n<li>100 breast &#8211; 56.22<\/li>\n<li>200 breast &#8211; 2:03.31<\/li>\n<li>200 IM &#8211; 1:59.79<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also competing for Billings Senior High School, Kerns is a four-time Montana State Championship finalist.\u00a0The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American finished second in the 100 breast and seventh in the 200 IM as a sophomore after taking eighth in the former event during his rookie season.<\/p>\n<p>He has made significant improvements over the past three years &#8211; dropping 11 seconds in the 100 breast and 21 seconds in the 200 breast &#8211; and will add major depth to South Carolina&#8217;s breaststroke group.<\/p>\n<p><em>If you have a commitment to share, please send a photo and quote via email to\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"mailto:hs@swimmingworld.com\"><em>hs@swimmingworld.com<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW COMMIT:\u00a0Billings, Montana native\u00a0Liam Kerns\u00a0has announced his verbal commitment to the University of South Carolina beginning in the fall of 2021.
