The database features information on all sports, including results of all events going back to the beginning of the modern Olympic movement. It previously required a password to access the information.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the database, which can be reached at this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.olympedia.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a>, or by visiting www.olympedia.org, visitors are provided with profiles of prominent Olympians, stories of epic races and full results, which include split times in swimming as far back as the 1960 Games in Rome. The fact that splits are available should be intriguing to swimming fans, since this data is not easily accessible for Games not of the immediate past.<\/p>\n<p>In a blog post this morning, <strong>Bill Mallon<\/strong>, one of the OlyMADmen and the foremost American expert on the Olympic Games, wrote the following: &#8220;The Olympedia research site contains the profiles and results of all Olympic athletes and informative descriptions about the Games, events, venues, and much more.
